Lidge Removes Some Loose Bodies

Brad Lidge, closer of the Philadelphia Phillies, underwent his second surgery in three months to remove loose bodies in his right knee.

The Phillies' trainer expects Lidge to resume pitching in a couple weeks but doesn't know when he'll be game-ready.

Lidge had some issues last season with the same knee; spending time on the disabled list.

After a horrible 2009 season, Lidge's value has dropped significantly in most closer rankings. Expect his numbers to drop down to usable levels next season but don't be surprised to see many hiccups.

If Lidge falters, expect Ryan Madson to step up into the closing roll. Madson had 10 saves last season with an ERA of 3.26.
