Adam LaRoche and the Arizona Diamondbacks agreed on a one-year deal with a mutual option for the 2011 season.

LaRoche split time with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Boston Red Sox, and Atlanta Braves last season while hitting 78/25/83/.277.

The signing sends some waves through the fantasy baseball world as the D-Backs will play LaRoche at first base, moving Conor Jackson to left field.

The moves spell a possible end to Eric Byrnes' time in Arizona as he was immediately designated for assignment.

LaRoche is a consistent producer for fantasy managers but tends to perform better during the second half of the season. Playing in Arizona shouldn't hurt his production.
