Fox Sports reports that Oakland Athletics prospect Grant Desme will quit baseball to pursue the priesthood.

Desme won the AFL MVP this past season after a spectacular performance as we reported here.

Baseball America lists Desme as the #8 prospect in the Oakland system. He hit .288 with 98 runs, 31 HRs, 89 RBI, and 40 steals in 131 games split between A and A+ in 2009.
