According to Sports Illustrated's sources, Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees tested positive for two anabolic steroids in 2003.

Rodriguez played for the Texas Rangers that season while leading the American League in home runs and earning the American League MVP award.

According to the SI report, Rodriguez's name and 103 players appear on a list of player that tested positive for performance enhancing drugs. The MLB Players Association was testing to players to see if they should implement random testing for performance drugs.

Since the positive test came before 2004, when the MLB instituted rules against performance enhancing drugs, Rodriguez will not be punished.

This test comes as a shock to a lot of people in the fantasy world while many have speculated that Rodriguez has been a user. This report, if true, will certainly tarnish his reputation.

The rest of the names on the list have no been released but SI's sources have stated that Rodriguez is on the list.
