Closers Falling Like Flies; Bailey and Street Hurt

Yes folks, the annual closer rodeo is town a little early this year.

Minnesota Twins' Joe Nathan, as reported last week, is out with a possible year-ending injury but now we can add two more closers to the injured list.

Oakland Athletics' closer Andrew Bailey is out with what is commonly termed "tennis elbow" in his pitching arm. Bailey believes he will be ready by opening day.

This is not good news for Bailey owners as the injury, because it is caused by overuse, can linger during the season.

Second options in Oakland for fantasy managers include Micheal Wurtz and Brad Ziegler.

Huston Street, closer for the Colorado Rockies, will most likely start the season the disabled-list after undergoing and MRI on his right shoulder.

Street doesn't believe the injury will delay the start of his season by much as it "is just a bump in the road."

Options in Colorado include Franklin Morales and once-closer Manny Corpas. Morales will probably get the nod before Corpas.
