Oakland Athletics prospect Grant Desme was named the Arizona Fall League MVP.

Desme capped his spectacular 2009 season by hitting 11 home runs and batting .315 in 27 games for the Phoenix Devil Dogs.

During the 2009 regular season, Desme split time between A and A+ combining for 31 home runs and 40 steals while earning a .933 OPS.

Desme is still relatively young at 23 and could be fast-tracked next season. His development stalled after a shoulder injury during 2008 spring training that caused him to miss all but two games in the 2008 season.
