Pettitte Agrees to a One Year Deal
January 26, 2009
After some deliberation, Andy Pettitte has decided to stay with the New York Yankees signing a one year deal worth $5.5 million. Lower than New York's original offer of $10 million, Pettitte's new contract has a possible performance bonus of $6.5 million.

Pettitte joins an impressive Yankees rotation featuring the newly acquired CC Sabathia and A.J. Burnett along with young gun Joba Chamberlain and the ever present Chien-Ming Wang.

Pettitte is a decent mid to late round pitcher because of consistency. He has averaged 15 wins a year over the last 4 seasons. The problem is he often has an ERA of 4 to go with his wins.
