Howard Gets New Deal
February 08, 2009
The Philadelphia Phillies have decided to reward their star first baseman Ryan Howard for leading them to their first World Series title since 1980. Howard, who lead the majors with 48 home runs and 146 RBIs last year, agreed to a three-year, $54 million dollar contract.

Howard is highly prized on any draft board, commonly going in the first or second round. With over 45 home runs hit in every full year of play, Howard should be a force to be reckoned with again in 2009.
