Mets closer will not be returning this week, as originally hoped. In fact, Wagner might be shut down for the season.
On the DL since the beginning of August, Wagner had pitched in simulated games was working towards a return but his elbow has continued to remain swollen and doctors have shut him down until the swelling subsides.
There is no set date for Wagner's return.
