Brewers Salomon Torres Retires
November 11, 2008
Salomon Torres (RP-Milwaukee Brewers) retired on Tuesday after 12 season in the majors.

Torres was a solid relief pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Milwaukee Brewers during his career with five major league teams.

This marks the second time Torres has retired in his career after previously retiring after his 1997 season with the Montreal Expos.

Torres' retirement comes somewhat as a surprise as he pitched well as replacement closer for the Brewers last season. He finished the year with 28 saves and a 3.59 ERA.
